Linda Irene (Welton) Bamford

It is with heavy hearts, the family of Linda Irene Bamford, loving wife of Glendon Bamford, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.  Born on August 22, 1949 in Cumberland County, NB, she was the daughter of the late Wilmot and Juanita (Dunham) Welton. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Charlotte Polley.

Linda had worked for the Saint John Regional Hospital in Human Resources until her retirement in 2008.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, nanny and friend. She enjoyed knitting, travelling, cooking and most of all her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

In addition to her loving husband Glendon of 47 years, she is survived by her twin daughters Shelley Bamford and Sherry Bamford (Corey Gagnon) and cherished Nanny to Megan Duplessie and Kyle Gagnon. She is also survived by her brother Wayne Welton; sisters Sandra Langlais (Paul) and Kimberly Doucet (Louie) and several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m. The procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Following the interment a reception will be held in the reception area at Fundy Funeral Home. In keeping with Linda’s request, please feel free to send flowers.
