Joyce McCarthy

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Edna Joyce McCarthy which occurred at the Loch Lomond Villa on Monday, July 24th, 2017.  Born 1920, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Timothy Harry and Blanche (Crozier) McCarthy.  Joyce worked as a Printer at NB Tel for 12 years.  She enjoyed spending time at her trailer in Grove Hill.  Joyce loved to garden and she cherished time spent with her family.    

Joyce is survived by her sisters Muriel Edwards of Saint John, Isabel Burgess of Saint John, Shirley Gamble of Nova Scotia; nieces and nephews Brian Edwards (Martha), Rosalie Weeks, Greg Burgess (Penny), Guy Burgess (Alice), Lynne Steele, Timothy McCarthy (Lucie), Wendy Currie (Fred), Holly Gamble, Terry Gamble (Donna) as well as several grand nieces and grand nephews.  Besides her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her brothers George and Donald and brothers-in-law James Gamble, Gordon Edwards, and Leslie Burgess. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Thursday, July 27th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Friday, July 28th at 2 p.m. followed by an interment at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.  Donations in memory of Joyce may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
