It is with sadness that the family of Ingrid Hartmann announce her passing on June 26, 2015 at V.A. Snow Centre, Hampton. Ingrid was born on January 22, 1930 in Grauballe, Denmark to Emil and Esther Ostergaard.
She was the eldest of five children Else (deceased), Kirsten, Birgit and Jorgen (deceased). She and her husband of 62 years, Ottar, immigrated to Canada in 1958 and raised their 5 children, Berit (Michael Kueppers), Kirsten, Esther (Robert Noble), Heidi (Michael Losier) and Stein (Lynda) in Markham, Ontario and Belleisle Creek, New Brunswick.
Ingrid was much loved and respected for her hard work and dedication to her family and her God, Jehovah. She had so many interests but was probably known most for her beautiful gardens, quilts and hospitality. She loved working at Sussex Health Food Store. She also loved her grandchildren, Brent, Simon, Jordan, Nicholas, Lee, Kirsten, Alexandra, Zackery and Mitchell.
She suffered a massive stroke almost 10 years ago and stayed at home until a few months ago where she was cared for by her loving husband and some wonderful caregivers. Our thanks go to them, foremost Bertha, Diane, Dawn and Sherry as well as Janice and the wonderful staff at V.A. Snow for making her life comfortable. In those years, it was often her great-grandchildren (Samuel, Noah, Ari, Charlotte and Beatrix) who could make her smile.
We know Ingrid is asleep in death and in Jehovah’s memory and look forward to the time when we will see her again in the resurrection on a paradise earth. (Acts 24:15).
Arrangements entrusted to the Fundy Funeral Home., 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 14 Elliot Rd., Quispamsis at 2 p.m. on Thursday July 2, 2015.
