Gerald Joseph Arseneault

It is with heavy hearts the family of Gerald “Gerry” Joseph Arseneault, loving husband of Edith “Edie” (Leger) Arseneault, occurred on Monday July 3, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1932 in Rogersville, NB he was the son of the late Nicholas and Zelia (Henri) Arseneault. Gerry was employed with Lawson Motors as an Auto Mechanic and then Irving Oil as an Industrial Mechanic for many years. He was an auxiliary member of the RCMP for 4 years and an active member of Irving Alumni and the Valley Cruisers Car Club. In addition to his wife Edie, he is survived by his son Jerry (Theresa); daughter Jacqueline (Gordon); grandchildren Tanya (Dave), Amanda (Chris), Sylvia (Shayne), Allison and Ethan; great-grandchildren Kaitlin, Jenna, Will, Abbie, Christopher, Zakk, Sierra and Daniel; brothers Ovila (Donna), Emile (Louise); sisters Mary Ann Makzamick, Theresa (Arthur) Elward and a sister-in-law Betty. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife Marguerite (Dayment) and his brother Larry.

Following cremation, visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) on Thursday July 6, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Rothesay on Friday July 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
