Welcome to the memorial page for

Evelyno "Beling" Deang Tolentino

January 27, 1946 ~ December 19, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old

With deepest regrets we announce the peaceful passing of Evelyno Deang “Beling” Tolentino at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.  Evelyno was born on January 27, 1946 in Santa Rita, Minalin Pampaga, Philippines to the late Gonzalo and Fidela (Deang) Tolentino and was the loving husband of 45 years to Matilde (Miole) Tolentino.

Evelyno was employed at Moosehead Breweries as a Machine Operator for 25 years before retiring to enjoy his time with his friends and family.  He was a man who always enjoyed having people around.  He was great with his hands and woodworking and built a bar inside his home to entertain his friends, which he did quite often.  He had a great sense of humor and a contagious enthusiasm.  He was just a pleasant man to be around.  Beling would open his doors to anyone and everyone.  If they needed a place to stay or were new to the city and wanted to be in good company of people they wouldn’t necessarily have met before, or if they just needed help, he was there.  He was also a wonderful husband and father and a devoted grandfather.  He was taken far too soon and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife and best friend Matilde, son Mark of Calgary, AB, daughters Evelynne (Colin) of Browns Flat and Hazel (Richard) of Quispamsis, adored grandchildren; Ella, Egan, Elias, Amelia and Jasmin, and brother Romeo (Teresita) of Vancouver, along with niece Maritess and nephew Rodney and many, many friends.  He was predeceased by his parents.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, (91 Waterloo Street) on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 12:10pm.    Memorial donations in Evelyno’s memory to the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
