Betty Jean (Flanders) McKenna

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Betty Jean McKenna (Flanders), loving wife of 54 years to the late Samuel “Norman” McKenna, announces her passing which occurred peacefully on Saturday, October 1st 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Betty was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Grace (Johnson) Flanders of Plaster Rock, NB.

Betty’s career included but was not limited to Simpson Sears, Irving Oil LTD and the Salvation Army. The majority of Betty’s life was dedicated to her family, children and especially her animals.

Betty will be missed by her loving children; Sheldon (Glenna) of Alberta and Merilee McKenna-Mullin (Derek) of Saint John. Betty will be remembered by her cherished grandchildren; Kevin (Lauren), Ken (Kristen) and Katie McKenna, Jordan (Letecia) and Josh Belding, great grandchildren; Rachel and Reese McKenna, Izetta Belding and Harrison Vincent, step grandchildren; Kathryn, Benjamin, Mark and Sarah Mullin, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and members of her extended family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). In keeping with Betty’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family graveside service will take place.

For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church, the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the S.P.C.A.
