Winnifred Roberta Janes

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Winnifred Roberta Janes who passed away on Monday May 22, 2023.

Born in Fredericton, NB January of 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marion (Owen) Clayton. Winnie worked for NB Tel in her early years before meeting her husband, Donald. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Who enjoyed bowling, knitting, crosswords, coffee and cards at Regency Towers on Tuesday and Thursday nights with all her friends, whom she thought the world of. Those who knew and loved Winnie will miss her forever. 

She is survived by her family who adored their Queen Mother; daughters Holly Chiasson (Allison Black), Lynn Glaspy and Karen Janes; daughter-in-law Marguerite; sister Susan Burke (Paul), brothers-in-law Richard Kelly and Russell Friars; precious grandchildren Jeffrey (Jennifer), Michelle (Dave), Donnie, Michael (Eric), Christopher, Matthew (Rebecca) and Katelynn; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and her grand doggers Maggie and Molly. Along with her parents, Winnie was predeceased by her husband Donald E. Janes; sons Donald C Janes; Richard Janes and Douglas Janes; brothers Robert Clayton and Charles Clayton and sisters Shirley Friars and Helen Kelly.  

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, N.B. (646-2424) with visitation on Friday May 26, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Fernhill Cemetery.
