It is with heavy, yet joyous hearts, that the family of Willis “Billy” Randall Walker announce his passing in the early morning hours of May 11th, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his daughter Ricki-Lynn by his side, to be reunited with his late wife Karen Alverta Walker (Peterson).
Willis was the son of the late Alma Mary Jean Scoggins (Van Tassel) and Willis Randall Walker, he leaves behind his son Anthony (Carolyn) Walker, daughter Ricki-Lynn (Donnie) Matthews, cherished grandchildren Narissa, Devin, Kayden & Lexy Rodgerson, and Xavier & Calder Walker, brothers Wayne (Star) Walker, Richard (Linda) Walker, sisters-in-law, Nona (Lorne) McLaren, Starr (Roger) Cashwell, Kelly (Bruce) McIntyre and Tanya Peterson, brother-in-law Terry Peterson and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Willis worked at NBTel, later Bell Aliant, for many years and until recently, met with former colleagues on a regular basis for breakfast at Kay’s Kitchen. His friends, especially, the Cosman Family, the Crilley Family, the Webster Family, Tom Brown, Mark Evans and Anthony Bezeau will miss his candor and all his many stories told for some great laughs.
Willis was a testament to his faith, his membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was of utmost importance to him, he enjoyed his church family very much and ministering to other members brought joy to his heart.
Willis is being reunited in God with his wife Karen, his parents Alma Scoggins & Willis Walker, step-father Ian Scoggins, his in-laws Charles & Doris Peterson, his sister-in-laws Heather Hodd (Peterson), Laurie Peterson (Titus), brother-in-law Dennis Peterson, and nephew Richard Walker.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the essential workers in the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital for making him comfortable while he was with them; although the social distancing situation did not make things easy, the staff provided as much compassion and comfort as they possibly could in this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) At the request of Willis, there will not be a funeral service.
