WORDEN, WILLIAM LAWRENCE ‘LARRY’
It is with appreciation of a life well-lived and gratitude for many years of memories, that we announce the passing of William Lawrence ‘Larry’ Worden which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, September 8, 2023. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on November 24, 1934, he was a son of the late William and Dorothea M. (Marshall) Worden.
Larry worked at the Saint John Dry Dock as a Crane Operator for 29 years. He was a proud man who enjoyed the simple things in life such as reading the newspaper daily and doing crossword puzzles. He had a passion for listening to old country music, enjoyed dances with Marilyn at the legion and over the years shared a love for dogs and horses.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Marilyn and her family, along with his brother Jimmy Worden and 2 sisters Dorothy Brinson and Shirley Boulter. He is also remembered by several grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Larry is also predeceased by his first wife Mary along with his brother Billy Worden and 2 sisters Barbara Jones-Buckley and Audrey Jones.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation hours being held on Tuesday, September 12th between 5-7 PM. The funeral service will be held in the Fundy Chapel on Wednesday, September 13th, 2023 at 1:00 PM followed by a reception and interment at Fernhill Cemetery.
