William Daniel "Bill" Allan Obituary

It is with broken hearts the family of Bill Allan of Rothesay announce his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday January 8, 2021.

Born in Moncton on April 24, 1955, he was the son of the late Lewis and Beatrice (Burlock) Allan. Bill attended UNBSJ and graduated with a Commercial Degree. He joined Canada Life in 1977 as an agent and in time had his own business, AKG Financial (Maritime Private Wealth Solutions). He was an active member of his community including serving as Chair of the Board for Saint David’s United Church in Rothesay and for many years with the Boy Scouts of Canada. Time spent with family and friends camping, sailing and being in the outdoors, family summer vacations in PEI and time at the Cottage are times his family will cherish forever.

Loving husband, father, Grampie , brother, uncle and friend. Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Debbie (Naves) Allan; daughter Vanessa McKinnon (Scott); sons Daniel Allan (Alyson) and Jeffrey Allan (Michelle); precious grandchildren who adore their Grampie Jacob, Sophia, Lorelai, Felicity (who were his princesses) Aidan, Lewis (his best buddies) and one arriving next month; his only sister Christine de Jong (Frans); stepmother Dorothy Allan; extended Naves family; several nieces, nephews and friends. Along with his parents, Bill was predeceased by his uncle Ronald and Aunt Dorothy along with many members of the Naves family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) Due to the current pandemic a private visitation will be held. Funeral service will be held at Saint David’s United Church in Rothesay on Wednesday January 13th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. for family and invited guests only. The funeral service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend, please see the church's website at www.saintdavidsunited.ca. At a time in the future, when restrictions have been lifted, a celebration of Bill’s life will be held.
