Wesley Vail Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family of Wesley Vail announces his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 29, 2020. Wesley was born in Wickham on October 30, 1937; a son of the late Alfred and Greta (Bostwick) Vail, and the loving husband of the late Mona (McIlwraith) Vail. Wesley lived in Brown’s Flat all his life, and resided at Serenity Cove Special Care Home for the last 2 and a half years.  The family would like to thank Jennifer Paul and her staff at the care home for their loving care, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff of both 3C South and 3B North at the Regional for their excellent care. Wesley is survived by his son, Derek Vail, daughter, Michele (John) Israel, brothers Edward (Susan) and Charles, sisters Margaret Lindsay and Marilyn (Borden) DeLong, grandchildren Lacey, Ashley, and Joel, along with great-grandchildren Aaliyah and Elijah. Along with his parents and his wife, Wesley was pre-deceased by his brothers Arnold, Garfield, and Beverly. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John. Cremation has taken place, and graveside prayers will be held at the Brown's Flat Baptist Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Salvation Army, or the Red Cross would be appreciated by the family.
