Wayne Douglas Murphy

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Douglas Murphy on April 17, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  He was born in Fredericton, NB on January 6, 1937 to the late Vaughn Robin and Mary Lorinda (Clarkson) Murphy. 

Wayne was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, retiring with the rank of Corporal.  He served in the RCAF as a Transportation Mechanic from 1956 to 1966.  He was very proud to have served his country.  After leaving the military, he joined Canada Post and was a letter carrier for 28 years.  Wayne was a very happy-go-lucky guy with a zest for life.  He could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything.  He had a good sense of humor.  Wayne was everybody’s favorite person because of his personality.  He was taken too soon and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his sons, Andrew and Paul; daughters, Lorinda (Nicky), Kim and Valerie; granddaughter, Tarina Arnold; sisters, June Foster, Elaine (George) Andrews and sister-in-law, Gladys Murphy as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Gerald and Robert, and his stepson, Bruce. 

Wayne’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Art and Sandy for all that they have done for Wayne.  Your kindness will not be forgotten. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8pm.  A funeral liturgy will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 2pm.  For those unable to attend you are invited to watch the service online here at https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1618948112111624. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Lancaster Branch #69 would be appreciated by his family.
