Viola D. Donelle

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Viola Doreen (McKenney) Donelle which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, December 2nd, 2022.  Born 1928, in Torryburn, NB, she is the daughter of the late Harry and Beulah (Marr) McKenney.  Viola was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, doing puzzles and crossword puzzles.  She loved her weekly drives to St. Martins, Sussex or Grand Bay.  Family was most important to her, as she cared for her 2 sons up until Paul’s passing earlier this year. 

Viola is survived by her son Joe Donelle (Jane) of Quispamsis; grandchildren Joey, Nichola, Sarah, Melissa and Jessica; several great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with her parents and son Paul, Viola was predeceased by her husband Joseph Adrice “Don” Donelle and brothers Clifford, Ronald and Victor.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424) with visitation being held on Tuesday, December 6th from 10 – 11 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service in the Fundy chapel at 11 a.m.  Interment will take place at a later date.  Donations in memory of Viola may be made to Spina Bifida or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
