Vincent Aubrey Tufts

It is with great sadness that the family of Vincent Aubrey Tufts announce his passing on June 30, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital in Saint John N.B. Born in Saint John, on January 21, 1947, he was the husband of Alfreda Eva (Reed) Tufts, and the son of the late Lyle and Helen (McCumber) Tufts. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Vivian Margeson,  brother Irwin Tufts and sister-in-law Kathy Tufts.

Vincent started his career as an Auto Body Mechanic and because of his hard work ethic, he advanced to Body Shop Manager for several years and owned/ operated Fairfield Hardware in his home community. He loved carpentry from building his own homes to cabinetry and outdoor furniture.

Vincent loved summers, travel, exploring new places, camping with the family and all the shenanigans that went with it. Vincent loved family get-togethers and Sunday drives. He was a pillar of strength in every sense of the word, someone to admire and he was always there when needed. Vincent was a good man, great husband and loving father and grandfather. He will be forever missed and always lovingly remembered by his wife Alfreda, daughter Lisa Marlene (Mark) McDermott, daughter Teresa Dawn (Derek) Stackhouse, son Darren Vincent (Shauna) Tufts, his beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. 

He is also survived by brother Lawson (Donna) Tufts and sister Marlene (Kevin) Forrest, cousin and friend Gerald Brown.

By request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Graveside Service will take place at Browns Cemetery in Bains Corner on Thursday, July 9th at 2 p.m.  The funeral procession will depart from Fundy Funeral Home at 1:00 pm.
