It is with heavy hearts the family of Victor A. Yorke announces his peaceful passing which occurred on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Digby, NS on January 26, 1935 he was the son of the late Vernon and Ameila (Parker) Yorke. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 55 years Rose Ann Yorke; siblings Eustice “Yorkie”, Raymond and Muriel Koopman.
Vic was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a member of the vestry of St. Thomas Church, past associate member of Branch # 53, Branch # 63 and Branch # 58 and a member of local 213 for over 60 years.
Vic loved his home in Black River, gardening and spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving children Tom Yorke (Joanne), Laurie Drew (Philip), Paul Yorke (Irene), Heather Yorke (Denis Noel) and Paula Yorke at home; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Friday, November 13 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A celebration of life will be celebrated from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 14 at 10 a.m. For those unable to attend extended family and friends are invited to watch the service online here at https://www.oneroomstreaming.com/view/authorise.php?k=160528910985555. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Black River. Remembrances in memory of Vic may be made to St. Thomas Cemetery Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
