Tony MacDonald

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Tony Curtis MacDonald announce his passing on Wednesday August 3, 2022 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Tony was born in Saint John on August 18, 1961, the son of the late Maxwell and Evelyn (Proctor) Cairns. Tony worked for Irving Oil, Marine Atlantic and as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tinkering in his garage. 

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 41 years, Kathy (Bonner) MacDonald; children Ryan (Sara), Megan and Katelyn (Mike) Chamberland; mother-in-law Helen Bonner; brother Donald (Diane) MacDonald; sisters Cindy (Jim) MacDonald, Judy (Don) Johnson, Brenda (Chuck) Newman; grandchildren Owen, Liam, Peyton, Luke and Cali as well as several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Paul and sisters Mary, Linda, Debbie and Leona. 

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Joan’s Home Care (Don) for the love and care given to Tony throughout his illness. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday August 6, 2022 from 10am-1pm. A Celebration of His Life will follow in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 1pm. Donations in his memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or the NB Lung Association.
