Thomas "Tom" Edward Whitney

It is with broken hearts the family of Thomas “Tom” Edward Whitney, loving husband to Karla Lee (Benjamin) Whitney announces his unexpected passing which occurred on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at his home.

Born in Saint John, NB on June 20, 1967 he was the son of Medley James Whitney and the late Marlene Elizabeth (Butland) Whitney. In addition to his mother he was predeceased by his father-in-law David Benjamin.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hiking, fishing, building anything with his hands and spending time around his home. He was a great story teller, especially to the kids. He had a love for all animals and they enjoyed rescuing Raccoons.

In addition to his loving and devoted wife of 10 years, Karla, and his father Medley, he is survived by his brother Robert Whitney (Tracy); sisters Linda Densmore (George); Barbara Pasch (Harry); Elizabeth Mackie (Brian) and mother-in-law Marilyn Benjamin; extended Benjamin family; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be celebrated from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. Remembrances in memory of Tom may be to the charity of the donor’s choice.
