Theresa Ann "Terry" Morrell Obituary

 It is with heartbreak and sadness that the family of Terry Morrell announce her passing which occurred unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday July 16, 2021. Terry was born to George Thomas “Tonous” Laba Stephen and Violet Mary Ann (Tobias) Stephen, on December 5th, 1947. When Terry was 2 years old, following the untimely death of her mother, she and her sister Celanie became beloved daughters of their paternal uncle and aunt Jacob George Stephen and Mary Caroline (O’Toole) Stephen. Over the years Terry worked for Cash and Carry, Eaton’s, Big Top, Bargain Harold’s and was a customer service representative working for Zellers, McAllister Mall from 1988 until its closure. Terry was active in the Social Activities at Regency Towers, Thursday Rummoli Group, Bingo, Zellers Supper Club and was a huge Elvis and Beatles Fan. Terry loved to sing and dance, especially the jive! She had a happy spirit and loved everyone! She loved Christmas and the first snowfall always resulted in a call from Terry to wish us "Merry Chrismas" even if it was October!!

She is survived by her husband Marlyn Morrell; daughter Laura Lee Mott (Jeremy);  son Kristopher Morrell (Holly) all of Saint John; grandchildren London O’Leary (Carly) of Regina, Saskatchewan; Ricky “RJ” Vinqvist and Quentin Vinqvist (Emma VanWart) of Saint John; great-grandchildren Macie, Hazel, Joshua and Chloe of Regina, Saskatchewan; siblings Celanie Scoville, of Medicine Hat, Alberta;  Robert Stephen (Margaret) of Saint John; Ramona Stack, of Kingston Peninsula; Thomas Stephen (Dianne) and Mary Thomas (Stephen) of Saint John; aunt Muriel Tobias and aunt & uncle Joseph and Della Stephen of Saint John; sisters-in-law Sadie Stephen, of Nepean, Ontario; Lynn Morrell and Sylvia Bradshaw of St. Martin's; Goddaughter/niece Monica Stack of Kingston Peninsula and Godson/nephew David Stephen of Rothesay;  many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews; lifelong friend Donna Burley, special friend Debby Girouard and Anita Meade and many other close friends.  

Along with her parents, Terry was predeceased by brothers Jacob Stephen Jr., Terrance “Ted” Stephen and Michael Stephen, brothers-in-law Earl Scoville, William “Buster” Stack, Ralph Henderson and Robert Bradshaw; sisters-in-law Sylvia Stephen, Patricia Stephen, Melanie MacDonald. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Thursday July 22, 2021 from 2~4pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street, Saint John on Friday July 23, 2021 at 10am. Due to limited seating, we ask that you RSVP at 646-2424.  Internment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations in Terry’s memory can be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association, Romero House or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
