Theresa "Kathleen" DeLong

It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Theresa “Kathleen” DeLong at Loch Lomond Village on January 3, 2021.  Born in Saint John on September 28, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Frances (Jenner) DeLong.  Kathleen worked as a Lab Technician for many years at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  She enjoyed bowling, travelling with her sister Joan, and being a member of Stella Maris Catholic Church.  Kathleen was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  She is survived by her special great-nephew Glenn Garnett (Julie) of Baxter’s Corner, and her nephew Peter DeLong of Saint John; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her brothers: Murray, Gerard, Don, Cecil, Raymond and Vern and her sisters: Dorothy Halman and Joan DeLong.  Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Tuesday January 5, 2021 from 6-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Stella Maris Church at a later date. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Due to public health’s pandemic restrictions and to maintain everyone’s safety: masks are mandatory, physical distancing will be respected and capacity will be limited during the time of visitation.  Donations in Kathleen’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
