It is with great sorrow, the family of Thelma Faye Mourik (nee Cossaboom) announce her passing on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, at the age of 77. She was the beloved wife of John “Bill” Mourik.
Thelma will be lovingly remembered by her children Leona (Bob) Johnson and Elliott Banks, her step-daughter Diana Carroll, her grandchildren Jared, Janica, Jesse (Bailey) and Cole, her step-grandchildren Stephen and Megan, her great-grandchildren, Ryder and Kinsley, her siblings Winston (Mary) Cossaboom, Gerald (Jennette) Cossaboom, Stephen (Heather) Cossaboom and Joan (Johnny) Blair and her brother-in-law Hugh McNeill.
She was predeceased by her sister Lenna and step-son Keith.
Thelma will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.
Thelma was a long time attendee of White Head Baptist Church. She loved bird watching, puzzles and her African violet plants. She enjoyed cooking for her family as well as sharing with neighbours and her church community.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). Visitation to be held Friday, October 3rd from 1:30-2:30PM with a service to follow in the Chapel at 2:30 PM. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
