Terry K. Hickes

Terry Hickes was born on April 10, 1962, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, his unmistakable presence, and his remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. Whether a stranger or a lifelong companion, Terry had a way of making people feel known, welcome, and at ease.

Terry was a proud father to four children: Alyssa (Deejay), Ash, Mandy (Michael), Matthew (Emily) and their mother Janice. He was also a deeply devoted grandfather to eight grandchildren; Isabella, Kinsley, Bentley, Aubree, Quinn, Hudson, Blythe, and Finneas, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.

He was predeceased by his parents, Connie and Robert Hickes; his brother, Wade Hickes; and his great-niece, Lindsay Murray.

Terry is survived by his siblings: Bonny (Robert), Cindy, Vickey, Robert (Christine), Blaine, John (Chrissy), and Richard (Hope), along with many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the paramedics who went above and beyond with their care and compassion during Terry’s time of need. A special and heartfelt thank-you is also extended to Nancy Hickes, Terry’s sister-in-law, who stayed faithfully by his side in the hospital. Her presence and support will never be forgotten.

Terry’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, the friendships he built so effortlessly, and the love he gave so freely. He will be remembered always.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Saturday, January 10th from 1 to 3 p.m.  A Celebration of Life will follow in the chapel beginning at 3 p.m.  Interment will take place at a later date.  Donations in memory of Terry may be made to Ridgewood Addiction Services, Outflow Ministries or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
