It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Terrance Francis O’Brien on May 1, 2019 at the Pontiac Reception Centre in Shawville, QC. He was born in Saint John, NB on September 23, 1954 to the late Frederick and Anne Marie (Fitzpatrick) O’Brien and was the loving husband to his spouse Edith Gibeault.
Terry worked the Saint John Port, was a deck hand with J.D. Irving Limited, Marine Division, and worked in varying construction positions before his move to Quebec. He was a quiet man, he worked hard, and he loved to fish and hunt. Terry would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was a kind man, one in a million and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his sons; David Perry and Freddy O’Brien, daughters; Elizabeth (Beth) O’Brien and Shiann Hill, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, as well as brothers; John (Sylvia) O’Brien, and Kevin, sisters; Elizabeth (Daniel) Farrer, Colleen (Gary) Johnston, Maureen (Paul) DeLucry, and Aileen (John) Cyr, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Terri Lee and son Keith.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Sunday, May 26 from 6-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held from the Virgins Chapel at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 10 a.m. with interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
