Teresa Dobson Obituary

It is with broken hearts that the family of Teresa Ann (Wood) Dobson announces her peaceful passing, surrounded by her loving family, which occurred on August 25, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 13, 1930 in Campbellton, NB, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Walsh) Wood.

Teresa loved her family above all else. She loved all the family gatherings and celebrating special occasions and holidays. Any opportunity to be together, she would be there. She was an avid bowler, loved to read, enjoyed lunch dates with her “special” girlfriends, and most of all enjoyed watching and cheering on her husband Arnie, their sons, and in later years their grandsons, at the curling club. As her family continued to grow in numbers, she stayed so involved and was so very proud of ALL of her family.

Teresa also loved her second family at the Chateau de Champlain. Teresa lived her last 5 years at the Chateau in Millidgeville and made many great friends there who meant the world to her! Special thanks to all the staff (who became like family), as well as, the girls from Joan’s Home Support for their exceptional care.

Teresa is survived by her seven children, Arlene (Michael) Case, Janet (Michael) Porter, Michael (Debbie) Dobson, Brian (Susan) Dobson, Gary (Mary) Dobson, Karen (Linden) Erbs and Kathy (Greg) Bursey; as well as 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Vera Wood and Merina ((Dobson) Kades, along with several nieces and nephews.

Teresa was predeceased by her loving husband Arnold “Arnie” Dobson, great-

granddaughter Reese Bursey, brothers Vincent “Bunt” and Kirwan, sisters Mae, Loretta, Peggy and Anita.

The family would like to thank mom’s family doctor – Dr. Sean Keyes whom she spoke so highly of and was so kind and caring to her over these past few years. Special thanks to nurse Jaclyn on 5CN for her kindness and support. Drs. Love and Williams, as well as Carolyn and all the nurses and staff in the palliative care unit on 3BN for the special care and compassion given to our mom in her final days.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. (646-2424). Private family services will be held at a later date. Remembrances in Teresa’s name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, IWK Children’s Hospital, Bobby’s Hospice or the donor’s choice.
