With extremely broken hearts, the family of Ted Dasilva shares the sudden and unexpected news of his passing on July 1, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, Ted was the beloved son of Patricia Dasilva and the late Fernando Dasilva.
Ted was a loving husband to Mandi, and the proud father of Amber, Dylan, Noah, Landon, Logan, Emily, and Lila. He was the kind of dad who lit up when he talked about his kids and always put his family first. He’ll also be deeply missed by his mother Patricia, his siblings Mark Dunham, Miguel Dasilva, and Katarina Dasilva, as well as his two cherished cats, Jo-Jo and Quinn.
He worked as a dispatcher for A Plus, and while he was dedicated to his job, he found true joy in the simple things—going for walks, spending time outside, and visiting places like St. Andrews and Chamcook. He also enjoyed playing video games in his downtime, but nothing ever mattered more to him than his family. Ted’s presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to those around him, and his absence leaves a space no one else can fill.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., Saint John, NB, visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, from 2–4 and 6–8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Monday, July 7, at 11 AM, followed by interment at Fernhill Cemetery. This event will be livestreamed and can be watched here.
For those who wish, donations in Ted’s memory can be made to the Diabetes Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Ted was deeply loved. He was taken far too soon, and he will be missed beyond words.
