Stuart Richardson Obituary

Stuart Gordon Richardson, age 81, passed away quietly in the palliative care unit of the St. John Regional Hospital in the early hours of May 1st 2018. Know as Stu to everyone, he was born in Toronto, but his life was to carry him to far and varied experiences. At an early age he joined the RCN and continued on through the CAF for a 30-year career. He often commented that the military gave him education and skills that he would never have gotten anywhere else. The irony was not lost on him, that when he left the military to join Paramax Corporation, he was given the title of Senior Systems Engineer. This, for a boy with grade 9 educations. He also tried his hand as a rural route mailman, a restaurant entrepreneur as well as other varied occupation. His true love though, was his antique furniture. A regular fixture at local auctions and multiple trips to New England, he was always coming home with a new prize and always at a “bargain”. Stu was not afraid of work and most of his life was spent toiling away at some job or project. We are certain he has moved on to a nice workshop to continue his labors of love.

He is predeceased by his parents, John Gordon Richardson and Doris Mabel Wenzel, and his wife Lavina Ellen Richardson (Feehan). He is survived by his children, Stuart Thomas Richardson, Douglas Norman Richardson, Denise Ellen Jeffrey and Cynthia Ann Richardson and his grand children Daniel, Kelly Ann, Kaisla and Tuukka.

Celebration of Life will be held at Fundy Funeral Home on Saturday May 5th from 09:30 to 10:30.
