Steve Nuell

With broken hearts, the family of Steven Roy Nuell announces his passing on November 26, 2025, at the age of 63. Born in Ontario, on October 14, 1962, he was a son of D’Arcy Roy and Georgina Nuell.

Steve started working as a Tow Truck Driver at the age of 19 in the Hamilton-Niagara Region. He fell in love with the job and continued with his career until his retirement. Steven was proud that he was able to help many out in tough situations. He also enjoyed the fact that his career allowed him to meet new people over the years, building bonds he normally wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for the nature of his job.

In his spare time Steve enjoyed being out on his motorcycle, going for rides with his friends. He loved his Harley and even when it came time that he could no longer ride it, he didn’t dare part with it.

Steve was overjoyed when he became a grandfather. He loved his two grandchildren deeply and even though there was a geographical distance between them, he never let that hinder his love and pride for them.

Steve loved all animals, wild and domestic. He could never say no when Anj came home with an animal that needed help or a home. He also loved the water and was a Scuba diver. Spending his last years in Saint John surrounded by nature and animals and overlooking the ocean from their front window were fitting. 

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Anjeanette Nuell (nee. Dowell/Hughes); son Adam (Sommer) Nuell; daughter Crystal Lee Nuell; grandchildren Tariel and Ava Nuell; cousins: Darren (Michelle), Tim, Jamie (Lori) Nuell, and John who were like brothers to him; brother David (Sharon) Nuell; as well as several other cousins and friends. Steve was also a very special uncle to Jacob, Ethan and Colin, who would light up when Uncle Steve showed up with the tow truck to let them play with the lights and sirens. He was predeceased by his cousin and special friend Ronnie Nuell.
