Stephen James Hughes

It is with a sad heart that the family of Stephen James Hughes announce his unexpected passing on December, 26, 2025.  Stephen was born in Bath, New Brunswick on May 20, 1957, he was the son of the late Reginald and Carol Hughes.  Stephen worked at PCL packaging and was a Commissionaire.  Stephen enjoyed collecting comics for well over 50 years as well as sports memorabilia.  He was also an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.  

He is survived by his son Mark Hughes and his sister Pamela and her son Josh: Leonard Hughes and his children Carrie and Johnathon.  His brother-in-laws Ken, David, Paul and sister-in-laws Holly, Susan ,Melody, Pamela, Kim, Carrie-Lynn and Mellissa.  In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Lynda Hughes (nee Jones) of 39 years; by his son Richard Hughes; in-laws Alan and Martha Jones; sister-in-law Donna and his sister Karen.  

The family extends their thanks to the staff of the SJRH and Fundy Funeral Home for all their care and dedication.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424).  In keeping with Stephens wishes cremation has taken place and a private family interment at Oceanview Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date.  For those that wish memorial donations may be made to Key Industries in Stephen's memory.
