Starlene Marie (Pearson) Garland

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Starlene Marie (Pearson) Garland on June 22, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  She was born in Woodstock, NB on May 3, 1942 to the late Robert and Ellen (MacDonald) Pearson and was the loving wife of 54 years to husband, Ken Garland. 

Starlene was very devoted to her family.  She was a lifetime member of Legion Branch 53 in the Ladies Auxiliary.  Starlene was very patient and kind-hearted.  She never had a bad word to say about anyone and she could always be counted on whenever you needed her.  She was very giving and caring and a wonderful wife and mother.  She was a good cook and made the best cabbage rolls in the world.  She enjoyed playing darts and cards and greatly enjoyed playing video games.  After her children grew up and moved away, her and her special dog, PJ, spent so much time together.   She kept her friends and family close to her and was well liked by everyone who knew her.  She was taken far too soon, but she left a lot of lasting memories behind.  She will be deeply missed. 

In addition to her husband, Ken, she is survived by her children, Dana (Heidi), Mike (Tamela), Kim (Donna Cosman) and Kellie (Charles) Garland; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Elsie), Roger (Debbie) and Kevin (Glenda) Pearson; sisters, Darlene (Jim) Bond, Judy (Mel) Vaughn, Debbie (Joe) McLaughlin and Pam (Gerry) Poole; as well as several nieces and nephews and friends. 

In addition to her parents and she was predeceased by her sister Rossie Harron.

Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).  Due to the ongoing pandemic, visitation and funeral services will be held by invitation only.  For those who wish, donations made in Starlene’s memory to the SPCA – Animal Rescue League, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.
