Stanley Kenneth Thomson

It is with sadness the family of Stanley Thomson announce his passing which occurred at his late residence Kennebec Manor on Monday March 30, 2020. Born in Dipper Harbour on September 30, 1924 he was the son of the late William S. and C. Maud (Thompson) Thomson. In his early working years, Stan worked the fisheries and worked the waters of Dipper Harbour and surrounding areas. In his 30‘s he studied hard and accomplished receiving his Diesel Engineering License. He had a love of flying and was a member of the Flying Club.  As a hobby Stan enjoyed model airplanes.  After receiving his Engineering License he went to work for the Government in Frobisher Bay NWT for a year and many years in Goose Bay Labrador. Once obtaining his Pilots License he spent many hours flying over Goose Bay and New Brunswick.

Stan never married or had any children of his own but was close to his brother and sisters and their families. He is survived by his sisters Sylvia Jones and Merle MacDougall; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & nephews and great-great-great nieces & nephews. Along with his parents, Stanley was predeceased by his brother Leigh Thomson; sisters Norine Thomson, Juanita Spragg and Alma Rideout; sister-in-law & brothers-in-law Bessie Thomson, Walter Spragg, Clifford Jones, Murray MacDougall and Melvin Rideout and several nieces and nephews.

Due to the current global pandemic, visitation or service will not be held at this time. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Thomson Burying Ground in Dipper Harbour, New Brunswick.
