Shirley Elizabeth Walker

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Shirley Elizabeth Walker announce her passing on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Shirley was born in Saint John on June 28, 1960 and was the daughter of the late Francis and Shirley (Doucette) Lowe.

Shirley was a kind-hearted woman and shared that kindness with everyone, knitting many blankets over the years and donating them to St. Joseph’s Hospital, 5th floor. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going for drives with Dale, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and loved anything to do with Mickey Mouse.  

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 35 years, Dale Walker; her son Rob (Carrie) Lowe; siblings Cathi (Dave) Gibeault, Della (Terry) Rogers, Frankie (Diane) Lowe, Alfie Lowe, Joanne Stanton and Preston (Mary) Lowe; sister-in-law Wendy (Kenny) MacDougall; grandchildren Alyssa and Grace Lowe, Maddie Brideau and Elizabeth Guimond; great-grandchildren D’Arcy Guimond, Naveah Dunphy and  Oliver and Olivia Callaghan; close friends Ike Bannan and Sharline Lynn; god son Logan Kennedy; niece and nephew Hillary and Matthew as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson Robert “Robbie” Lowe and her canine companion Cody.

The family would like to thank Dr. Carson and Dr. O’Neill as well as the staff of 5CN and 5Cs of the Saint John Regional Hospital for the wonderful care given to Shirley during her stay.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home where a Private Family visitation will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 2-4pm. Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
