Shirley June (Hatfield) McCue

It is with heavy hearts the family of Shirley June (Hatfield) McCue announces her peaceful passing which occurred on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Kingsway Care Centre, with her family by her side. Born in Diligent River, Cumberland County, NS on June 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret (Dean) Hatfield. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years Cecil James McCue; her son Randall McCue; siblings Mable Watson (William), Lawson Hatfield (Gladys), Dean Hatfield (Yvonne), Conrad Hatfield (Rose), Rexford Hatfield (Marjorie), Donald Hatfield (Mildred “Dolly”), Perry Hatfield (Mary), Percy Hatfield, Dallas Hatfield (Hilda) and Audrey Faulkenham (Percy).

Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved crafts especially needlework of any kind and toll painting. She was the Avon lady for over 25 years. Shirley owned and operated her own craft shop Country Whims for many years.

She is survived by her children Jeffrey McCue (Mary), Susan McCue Clayton (James) and Rexford John McCue (Jack); cherished grandchildren Hannah Clayton (Ryan), Carter Clayton (Julia), Matthew McCue; great grandchildren Olivia and Jack; sister-in-law Pearl Hatfield; special nieces the Magarvey girls Mindy (Paul) and Kim (Mike); special care givers Holly Bennett and Marion Jamieson; many nieces and nephews.

Special thank you to all the volunteers and staff of Kingsway Care Centre for the exceptional care given to our Mom, she was truly part of your family.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John (646-2424).

Services will take place at a later date.
