It is with deep sadness that the family of Sharon Rose “Rosie” McKinnon announce her peaceful passing at home on Monday, March 23, 2026.
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick on May 5, 1950, Rosie was the daughter of the late Donald and Olive McKinnon. In her younger years, she worked at the former Saint John General Hospital, where she cherished the opportunity to connect with and care for others. Rosie was known for her kind heart and unwavering devotion to her family and friends, always placing their needs before her own.
Rosie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing bingo, staying current with her favourite television shows, and had a special fondness for collecting beautiful purses and wallets. During the summer months, she especially enjoyed spending time in King Square, soaking up the sunshine alongside her dear friend, Patsy Martin.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Michael McKinnon and Samantha Belanger-Mailman (Richard); her brother, Bernie McKinnon; her cherished grandchildren, Cassidy Dubee, Nathaniel Washburn, Ezekiel McKinnon, and others; as well as her beloved cat, Mia.
In addition to her parents, Rosie was predeceased by her siblings, Nora, Donnie, Lynn, and Freddy McKinnon, and her daughter-in-law, Vanessa Bridgeo.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Road (506) 646-2424. In keeping with Rosie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, donations in her memory may be made to the Saint John SPCA.
