Sarah Beyea Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Sarah “Valerie” (Millican) Beyea (age 93) announces her peaceful passing on March 5, 2026, at The Church of St. John & St. Stephen Home, Inc. Valerie was born on February 14, 1933 in Saint John, NB to the late Robert and Sarah (Driscoll) Millican.

Valerie enjoyed the outdoors and her quiet hobbies. From early Spring to late Fall, you would always find her in her flower gardens with her hands in the dirt. If you ever stopped by you would always be treated to a tour of her garden and her beautiful flowers, in which she took great pride. She loved long drives on country roads and always had her camera with her. She enjoyed photography and filled many albums, and received prizes for contests she entered.

Valerie retired from Shoppers Drug Mart, where she enjoyed working in the cosmetic/beauty department. She took great pride in her work and in creating displays for the department, which won her several prizes.

Valerie loved her family and especially her grandchildren. They were the center of her life and she loved to spoil them.

Valerie will be dearly missed by her children; Charles (Chuck) Beyea (Kathy) and Gail Gray (Terry), her grandchildren; Amanda Watkins (Keni), Arianna Beyea (Kyle McKee) and Justin Beyea and her great-granddaughter; Isla McKee. Valerie also leaves behind her sisters-in-law; Betty Millican and Sandra Millican along with several nieces and nephews, and very special friend Lorna Moore.

In addition to her parents, Valerie was predeceased by her husband; Lloyd “Murray” Beyea, her brothers; Allan, Robert (Bob) and Gordon (Gordie), her son-in-law; Terry Gray, and long-time canine companion; Holly.

Special thanks to the nurses and staff of The Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home, Inc. for their care and compassion over the last few years.

Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB E2J 2G3. As per Valerie’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will follow at a later date at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, 327 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB E2L 3V1. Donations in Valerie’s memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
