Sandra Jean Speight

It is with broken hearts that the family of Sandra (Gaudet) Speight, loving wife of the late Clinton Edward Speight, wish to announce her passing which occurred on November 6, 2023, after a period of declining health, at Bobby's Hospice. Born in Saint John, December 31, 1944, she was the daughter of the late J. Patrick and Sarah (Vautour) Gaudet.

Sandra and Clinton had lived in Browns Flat most of their married lives where they raised their family and were an active part of the community.  She was also very active with the Greenwich Recreation Centre and was a volunteer with the food bank. Sandra received the Queen's Jubilee Medal.  She enjoyed her time spent in her garden.

Sandra is survived by her daughters; Lana (Peter Ryan), Avanda Wood (Stephen) and Lenna (Joe Johnson), her sisters; Betty Hay, Joyce Olsen, Gail Fugere, and Gina Skidd (David), her grandchildren; Danielle, Natasha, Victoria, Hilary and Patrick, great-grandchildren; Jamison, Esme and Wesley, her best friend for over 60 years, Carol Friars, along with her nieces, and nephews. 

Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters; Doreen Hayes, Marie Davis, Frances Toal and Carol McKiel. 

Sandra's family would like to express their genuine thanks to doctors and staff of Bobby's Hospice and to Dr Mackin.  

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), with visitation on Friday, November 10 from 9:00 until 10:00am at which time the funeral service will take place from Fundy Chapel.  Remembrances made to the Operation Smile Canada or Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated.
