Russell Henstridge Obituary

On October 15, 2025, Russell Thomas Allan Henstridge of Redhead, Saint John, NB, passed peacefully at home after a brief hospital stay. Russell’s final wish to be at home was fulfilled by his loving wife and partner of 50 years Alesia Ann Sullivan Henstridge.

Survived by his mother Helen Henstridge; his 3 children: Jeffrey, Brenda, and Kayla (Dave); grandchildren: Jonathon, Rebecca, Brendan, Dylan, Ava, Alexander, Zakkary, Mason; and great-grandchildren: Braxton, Cashton, Jayla, Jaxon, and Ellie. He is also survived by his 6 siblings: Holly, Heather, Heidi, John, Margaret, and Mark. He was a greatly loved son, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Russell was predeceased by his father Jack Henstridge, and infant grandson Dillon Mallet.

Russell entered the world on May 26, 1954, in Montreal, first born son of Jack and Helen. The family moved to New Brunswick in the late 50’s, eventually settling in Upper Gagetown. Russ loved the outdoors, so his career as a crane operator suited him and he spent several years as a valued employee of Capital Crane in Fredericton before retiring. Russell will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family of Russell wishes to thank Dr. Morton and Dr. O’Brien, the nurses and staff at 4CNorth, and a special thank you to Greg Abrams for everything he has done. Russell’s final days he spent with his wife and daughter who were caring for him as well. At Russell’s request, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
