Russell Foster Obituary

With sadness, the family of Russell Lyle Foster announces his passing on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Tucker Hall. Born on June 6, 1945, in Grand Manan, New Brunswick, Russell was the beloved son of the late Lowell and Pheobe (Huckins) Foster.

Russell was a proud graduate of Grand Manan High School and later pursued his faith by graduating from the United Pentecost Bible Institute in Marysville, NB. While his faith remained an important part of his life, Russell’s path included many roles. He spent time serving as Associate Pastor of the United Pentecostal Church in Woodstock, NB, and also worked as a narcotics clerk, bookkeeper, and for a period of time in a funeral home. In each role, he was known for his dedication, compassion, and strong work ethic.

Family was at the center of Russell’s world. He especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren and shared close bonds with his brothers and sisters. Known for his sweet tooth, Russell was famous for his homemade fudge, which will long be remembered by those who were lucky enough to enjoy it. He loved gardening, decorating, and celebrating Christmas, a season he embraced with great joy. A regular at Tim Hortons and McDonald’s, Russell could often be found enjoying his cranberry muffin and coffee.

Russell was also a man of many talents. He was a talented piano player and singer, possessed beautiful penmanship, and expressed himself with creativity and care in all he did.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Shawn Foster (Jennifer) and Stephanie Campbell (Michael); his grandchildren Loran, Chelsea, Aaron, Ethan, and Seth; and his great-grandchildren Liam and Nevaeh, with another great-grandchild eagerly awaited. Russell is also survived by his brother Jeffrey Foster (Greta); sisters Norma Wilson (Eugene) and Ruthilyn Ingersoll (Michael); his former spouse and cherished best friend, Audrey Foster; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). A service celebrating Russell’s life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in the Fundy Chapel. Donations in Russell’s memory may be made to North Side Assembly or to the North End Food Bank.
