It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Russell Lloyd Edgett, cherished and devoted husband of 56 years to Thelma (Clark) Edgett which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Born 1948, he was a son of the late James and Elizabeth (Rolfe) Edgett.
Prior to his retirement, Russell was employed as a Pipefitter for 48 years, a career he truly loved. He was a proud brother of UA Local 213, where many friendships were made. Russell took great comfort in the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Most of all, he adored his family and treasured the times spent with those he loved.
Along with his loving wife Thelma, he is survived by his 2 sons; Allen (Shannon) and Toni (Brenda). Also left to mourn are his 5 brothers; Arthur (Anna), Alvin (Phyllis), Garnet (Viola), Ronald and Raye (Amanda) and 3 sisters; Phyllis Murray (Arnold), Carolyn Dignard and Marilyn Freeze (George).
Russell will always be remembered by his 2 grandchildren; Erica Fairweather (Chris) and Travis (Lisa) Edgett, 4 step grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 12 step great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Russell is predeceased by his brother in-law Victor McKinney and sisters in-law; Peggy Wade, Louise Williston and Ethel Clark.
In keeping with Russell’s wishes, cremation will take place and a private family graveside service will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
