Roy W. McKinney

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Roy William McKinney, which occurred on Monday, January 19th, 2026, at Ridgewood Veterans Wing.  Born on October 17th, 1939, in Saint John, Roy was the Produce Manager of Dominion Stores Inc., North End Saint John which later became The Atlantic Superstore, where Roy worked for many years throughout the province.  He retired as Manager of Walmart and became a Commissionaire for the City of Saint John.

Roy was an avid Boston Bruins Fan, a Karaoke King and he loved to read.  Spending time with his grandchildren was most important to him and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Roy is survived by his daughters Samantha McKinney and Kimberly Levenshulme (Josh) of Saint John and their mother Lisa (Burke); grandchildren Paige, Noah, Liam and Maxwell; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Roy was predeceased by his first wife and special friend Nina Durning, grandson Zachary, sister-in-law Audra Newman and several brothers and sisters.

A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Ridgewood Veterans Wing.  Your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), with visitation being held on Friday, January 23rd from 12 to 2 p.m.  A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel, beginning at 2 p.m.  Donations in Roy’s memory may be made to Ridgewood Veterans Wing or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
