Ronald George Jordan, born February 26, 1951 in Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia to Cecil and Adeline Jordan passed peacefully, surrounded by an abundance of love, on April 16, 2025 in his favorite place, his home. Ron is survived by his loving wife, Tracey Burke Jordan, beloved critters (Joey, Burkley, Marley and Buddy), sons Ken (Denise), Mark (Lisa), daughters Marianne (Phil), Erin (Jeremy) and Liane, as well as his brother Sam (Belinda) and brother-in-law Mel (Sherry). Ron was blessed with and so proud of his grandchildren (Lily, Ethan, Jensen, Brooklynn, Addison, Zack, Dean, Penelope, and great grand-daughter Robin), his “other daughter” Emily, nieces Kristan, Meghan and Torie, great nieces Shelby, Amelia and Wylder, great nephews Jordan, Max and Bennett, and so many other special family and friends.
As a teenager, Ron felt the need to explore outside of Jordanville and headed to the big city of Halifax where he stayed until his early 20’s before making the hop to Saint John, NB and starting his diving career at KD Marine. He went on to join the Irving team as a diver, supervisor, Captain and general problem solver for 37 years before retiring in 2011. Never one to relax much in his working years, Ron also owned and operated Alpha Diving and then Jordive Limited that thrives to this day with his son at the helm. Ron found newfound joy in his retirement on the Kingston Peninsula (Long Reach, aka the light side) where no one could deny the giddy nature that came out when he was playing on his tractor and perfecting his inner woodworking genes (“his father was a carpenter, ya know”).
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (506) 646-2424. In accordance with Ron’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Interment will take place with family and loved ones on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, at 4 pm at Sunset Rest Cemetery in Indian Harbour Lake, NS. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 2 - 5 pm in his shop at 3282 Route 845, Long Reach, NB.
Ron’s family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. K. Cameron, Dr. J. Michael, Dr. C. Mackin, KV Extramural and the SJRH palliative care team who all showed him and us so much love and compassion. Donations in memory of Ron can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society, Sunset Rest Cemetery, SPCA, or charity of the donor’s choice
