Obituary

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Ronald James Stevens, which occurred Thursday, August 31st, 2023, at Bobby’s Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.  Born 1945, in Saint John, he is the son of the late Arnold and Jennie (Irving) Stevens.  Ron worked as a Labourer with Local 900 and also worked for the Coast Guard, Shipyard and Port before retiring in 2017.  He loved playing crib, going for walks and drives, playing pool and he was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan.  Ron enjoyed music, spending time with his wife Pam at Tin Can Beach, sharing stories while hanging with friends and having a beer.  Ron was the most perfect man to walk into Pam’s life and Pam was the most perfect woman to walk into Ron’s life.  Pam was there for Ron, to care for him 24/7 and loved him 24/7 when he got sick. He was her world.  Their love and commitment together was stronger than ever and he will be greatly missed by his wife Pamela, his family and his friends.

Ron is survived by his loving and devoted wife Pam Craig of 20 years; son Ron Osmon Jr. (Suzanne) of Quispamsis, Zyrack Osmon of Saint John; daughters Tanya Osman of Windsor, ON, Nicole Stevens (Matt) of Saint John; step-sons Shawn Craig (Tina) of Vancouver, Stewart Craig of Saint John; brothers Eric Stevens of Vancouver, John Stevens of Saint John, David Stevens of Toronto, Gerald Stevens of Fredericton; sisters Dorothy of Caribou, ME, Darlene Stevens of Calgary, Juanita Barker (Mike) of Saint John; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with his parents, Ron was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth, brother Arnold “Junior”, sister-in-law Verna and brother-in-law Sam. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424).  A Celebration of Ron’s Life will take place on Saturday, September 9th from 1-4 p.m. at Ron and Pam's residence.  Donations in memory of Ron may be made to Bobby’s Hospice or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
