Ronald Peter Butler

With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Ronald Peter Butler, which occurred on January 13, 2026, at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born on May 5, 1939, in Lagacéville, New Brunswick, Ronald was the beloved son of the late Leo and Melina (Savoie) Butler.

Ronald was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He gave his full attention to everyone he met and shared an infectious smile that brightened any room. Always eager to help those in need, he generously supported charities that were close to his heart.

A professional engineer by trade, Ronald took great pride in his career and remained deeply passionate about his work throughout his life. He was also an avid sports fan, especially enjoying the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In addition to his professional life, Ronald along with his wife Charlene found great joy in farming. Together they raised chickens and cows and worked the land, growing hay and oats—an endeavor that reflected his strong work ethic and love of the outdoors.

Ronald will be deeply missed by his brother, Claude (Katherine), his sisters, Claudia Butler and Angela Lester, as well as by his many nieces and nephews and their families. His extended family and all who knew and loved him will cherish his memory.

Aside from his parents Ronald was predeceased by his wife Charlene.

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB, where visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place in the Fundy Chapel on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
