With sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, Romaine Sharron (Saunders) Kramer, which occurred at Shannex Tucker Hall on Monday, April 26, 2021. Born in Saint John on September 4th, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Howard and Vivian (Allen) Saunders.
Romaine was a dedicated volunteer of over 30 years with Fairvale Outing Association and the Ladies Auxillary.
Romaine will be remembered for her sweet nature and especially her wild sense of humor. Romaine shared a beautiful smile which was always enough to bring happiness to anyone’s day. In her spare time, she could often be found playing cards and Rummoli with family and friends or sitting on the deck watching the birds and taking in the beauty of nature.
Above all else, she was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted wife, even long after the passing of her husband Horst. Romaine understood that family was everything and she would stop at nothing to ensure that they were well cared for and looked after.
In her younger years, Romaine enjoyed 50’s and 60’s music, but in her later years, she grew fond of a particular humorous ‘Pop' song.
Our wish is that she is free from any limitations of her body that she may have experienced in this life and that she is reunited and ‘Fancy Dancing’ with all of those who have gone before her.
Romaine is survived by her 3 daughters; Nadine Kramer of Kingston, NB, Gina Kramer (Paul Melanson) of Rothesay, NB and Liz Kramer of Rothesay. She is also survived by her sister Nodell and brother-in-law Josef. Romaine will always be remembered by her grandchildren; Corissa (Rob), Kristin (Jeff), Kyle (Kate) and Hayden; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Aiden, Gavin, Scarlett, Dallas, Hunter, Paislee and Lincoln. Several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Romaine is predeceased by her sister Treva and brother-in-law Mike.
Our family would like to acknowledge and give thanks to the staff of the Dialysis Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their care and compassion, faithfully shown towards Mom 3x a week throughout the last 12 years.
We would also like to say thank you to the 'care team' at Shannex Tucker Hall for the love they have shown towards Mom the last 3 years.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424).
In keeping with Romaine’s wishes, a private family celebration of life will take place at a later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations towards the Romero House or a Local Food Bank would be appreciated.
