Rolf Jackson Obituary

With heavy hearts, yet deep gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Rolf Lewis Jackson announce his passing on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John. Born at home in St. Martins, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Cecil and Annie (Dunlop) Jackson.

Rolf married the love of his life, Pauline, and together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. They built a life filled with love, raising their family and creating many treasured memories through travels and time spent together. Family meant everything to Rolf, and he held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren.

During his high school years, Rolf joined the 8th Canadian Hussars Reserve Army, serving as a wireless operator — a role he greatly enjoyed and remained proud of throughout his life. Later, he worked for a time at Canadian Tire but spent the majority of his career as a firefighter at the Saint John Airport, where he dedicated over 28 years of service before retiring.

Rolf looked forward to summer vacations in Prince Edward Island, loved taking cruises, and enjoyed travelling to the United Kingdom. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and took great pride in maintaining his property. Known throughout his neighbourhood for having one of the best-kept lawns, he was often complimented on his meticulous care and organization — something he valued greatly.

Rolf will be forever missed by his devoted wife, Pauline (nee Durick); daughters Angela Donovan (Brian) and Lorna Jackson; cherished grandchildren Allan (Megan) and Holly (Daniel); and great-granddaughter Lydia. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sister Marion Pierce (Norman) and sister-in-law Dale McLeod (Paul).

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Sterling and Eric Jackson.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB, on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Martins United Church, 24 Main Street, St. Martins, NB, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a time of fellowship in the church hall. Interment will take place in the spring at Mosher Hill, St Martins.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Ridgewood Liberty Lane for the care and compassion shown to Rolf during his time there. Their kindness and support will always be remembered.

Donations in Rolf’s memory may be made to the Ridgewood Veterans Comfort Fund, St. Martins United Church, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
