John leaves behind his devoted wife and best friend of 29 years, Brenda, whose love and dedication were the foundation of his life. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He also leaves behind his chosen children, Hunter McQuinn, Meghan McQuinn (Tristen), and Brittany (Jon) Goodine; his "brother from another mother," Justin McQuinn; his brothers Andrew (Wei) Young, Peter (Laurie) Young, David Young, and Daniel Young; his sister Ayjai Young; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whom he loved dearly.
Family was everything to John. He believed family was built through love, loyalty, and connection, and he welcomed many people into his life as family. His warm infectious smile, kind heart, and genuine nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the countless memories he leaves behind. John truly had the heart of a living Hero.
John had a passion for fishing and took great joy in teaching others, especially his nieces, nephews, and the many children whose lives he touched. He embraced life with enthusiasm, whether spending time outdoors, dressing up for Halloween, horseback riding, travelling, or simply enjoying time with those he loved.
Following his accident, Brenda cared for him with unwavering devotion, ensuring he was always surrounded by love and support. Together they continued making memories and enjoying life's adventures whenever possible.
