Roberta Alice “Robie” Gillcrist

Age 96, of St. Martins, N.B, passed away on May 8, 2022 at Loch Lomond Villa.  She was the daughter of the late Olive and Leaman Hennessy, born June 13, 1925, in St. Martins, N.B.  She was a lifetime member and very active in Holy Trinity Anglican Church.  She was an active member of the ACW and their quilting group for many years.  She enjoyed playing cards and never missed a chance to play cribbage.  She was a member of St. Martins Seniors Club for many years.  After retiring in 1990 from St. John News company, she moved into the St. Martins Lions Manor.

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Dan) Thibodeau, Kingston, N.S.; her son, Hal (Cathy), St. Martins, N.B.; grandchildren, Dan (Lucie), Larry (Emma), Mark, Teena (Wade) and Gerald (Nicole); seventeen great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.  Sister, Edna Steele, Saint John, N.B., as well as several nieces and nephews.  Brothers-in-law, Bill and Ward (Shirley) Gillcrist;, sister-in-law Jessie Bennett. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey; son, Gerald; brother, John Hennessy; several brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-8pm.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 2pm from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel with a reception to follow.  A private family interment will take place in Mosher Hill Cemetery.   For those who wish, memorial donations made to the Parish of Fundy and the Lakes or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by her family.  To sign the guestbook or place an online condolence, please visit www.fundyfuneralhome.com
