Robert "Bob" O'Donnell

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Robert John “Bob” O’Donnell, which occurred on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.  Born on April 24th, 1949, in Amherst, NS, he is the son of the late Patrick and Doreen O’Donnell.  Bob worked as a Backtender at Irving Paper for 30 years before retiring in 2005.   He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, woodworking and playing cards.   He was an avid outdoorsman and his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife Donna (Pye) of 53 years; sons Bill (Rachelle) of Willow Grove, Donnie of Mispec; sister-in-law Betty Ann O’Donnell of Saint John; grandchildren Samantha, Nicholas, Lexi, Jacob and Olivia; great grandson Mason; special nephew David Raynes; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  Along with his parents, Bob was predeceased by his son Robert Jr., brother Patrick, sisters Ruth, Gail and Diane and brothers-in-law James, John and Cleo.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with a Graveside Service taking place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Thursday, July 17th at 11 a.m.  Those wishing to attend, may join in the procession at Fundy Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m.

Donations in memory of Bob may be made to The Lung Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
