Robert Stears

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Robert “Bob” Ralph Stears announce his passing on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at his residence. Born in Saint John on April 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Robert “Vallie” and Jean (Lavigne) Stears.

Bob was a proud Veteran serving as Sergeant in the army reserves. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and 20 years as a Scout Master.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth (Keirstead) Stears; his daughter Jo-Ellen (Rob) Burke of Quispamsis; son R. Scott (Kimberly) Stears of Saint John; brother Harold (Lorraine) Stears of Saint John; sister Brenda (Brent) Matheson of St. George; grandchildren Meaghan, Logan, Emily (Christian) and Lily; one great grandchild Collin; best friend Russell Whitehouse and several nieces and nephews.

A service to honor Bob’s life will be held privately at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to P.R.O. Kids.
