Robert Gerald King

With heavy hearts, the family of Robert Gerald King announces his passing on June 6, 2025, at Bobby’s Hospice. Beloved husband of Janet (nee LeBlanc), Robert was born in Saint John, NB, on September 14, 1942, to the late Louis and Laura (McDermott) King.

Robert’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted and dependable presence, always ready to lend a hand or offer a ride—especially for his cherished grandchildren. Whether it was a simple outing or special time together, he never hesitated to be there. He shared a deep love of music and dancing with his wife Janet, with a particular fondness for country western tunes and the music of Elvis Presley. A passionate sports fan, he proudly supported the Montreal Canadiens.

He will be profoundly missed by his wife of 51 years, Janet; his son Blake King (Crystal); daughter Amanda Marshall (Jason); and grandchildren Robert, Josh, Kyle, Ashleah, and Owen. He is also survived by his brothers Murray and Wayne King; sisters Dianne King, Brenda Price (Alan) and ; sister-in-law Margaret King; special friends Arthur Kincade and Crystal Ellingwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, as well as his brothers Gary, George, Louie, and Walter King, and sisters Gladys Parks, Rhoda King, Caroline King, Rene Anderson; and sister-in-law Marion King.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). The family will receive visitors from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will follow in the Fundy Chapel, with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
