Rita Marie Richard

1923-2021

Rita Marie Richard was reunited with her husband after 14 years apart on July 17, 2021 at the age of 98. Rita was born in College Bridge, NB on February 25, 1923. Rita was the daughter of the late Eva (Belliveau) Bruce. She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons; Leo of Saint John, John (Theresa) of Fredericton, two daughters; Jeanette of Saint John and Helen (Richard) of Quispamsis, daughter-in-law Debra of Rothesay, 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marcella (Gregory) Moni of Franklin, Mass., Carol (Geoffrey) McLatchie of Cocagne, NB, as well as several nieces and nephews. Rita is pre-deceased by her loving husband Elie, son Donald, and daughter-in-law Joanne. She was employed as an attendant at the old Centracare for 10 years. The family would like to thank all the caregivers for all the compassion and tender care that was given to our mother, Extra Mural for their care and support, and Fr. McQuade for his prayers and comforting words. Rita was strong in her faith throughout her life and raised her family with the same beliefs.

Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Ann’s Church, 135 Simpson Drive on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Those wishing to attend the Mass must call the funeral home (646-2424) to RSVP. For those unable to attend, the service will be recorded and uploaded to the Fundy Funeral Home website. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
