To remember the man that Rick Hanson was is to remember the hope and positivity he had in any situation including his battle with cancer. We lost a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, and friend, on Tuesday October 14 of this year, but we will never lose the hope and love that he instilled in all of us.
Rick never gave up he fought hard and stayed positive for four and a half years. Rick truly embodied what it meant to care for others and be there when it really mattered. He served as President of the Saint John Flames Booster Club “Ignitors” and the 50/50 club for years helping to raise thousands of dollars for the community. He also served as the President of the American Hockey League Booster Club Association. Rick was also an avid hockey card collector and antique car admirer attending as many car shows as he could find.
His family was the only thing Rick loved more than the Montreal Canadians and his sanctuary at our trailer in Lone Pine Campground. Rick never put anything above family. Nobody can fill Rick’s shoes, but we know he will always be with us, loving us and watching over us.
Rick is survived by his wife of 49 years Lynda (Lamb), his daughter Bernice (Craig), his son Shawn (Shannon), his grandchildren Chad (Monique), Mariah, Brandon (Jadyn) and Aiden. His puppy Elvis. Also survived by our chosen family “(The Rowley Clan).” He was predeceased by his mother Bernice (Estey), his Father Philip. His Brothers Wayne (Carol), and Gary, his sister Sandra (Walter) and his companion of 12 years Diesel.
